Mike's family wished to hold a private cremation service with a public memorial service at a later date to celebrate Mike's life and achievements. The School was asked to facilitate this occasion and is pleased to be able to support Mike's family and to offer alumni, former colleagues and friends an opportunity to reflect on all Mike achieved both professionally and personally.
This celebration will be held in Perrins Hall at RGS Worcester on Saturday 26 October in conjunction with his family. All those who knew Mike from any aspect of his life are most welcome to attend the service and to then join Mike's family for a light reception at the School.
In order to help Mike's family plan for catering we request that anyone planning to attend registers on the Foundation website. There is no cost to attend and no tickets will be issued but we do expect there to be considerable interest so we need to plan adequately in order to provide a fitting tribute to Mike.
Mike's family has expressed a wish that bright colours be worn and, while recognising the sadness behind the gathering, that guests embrace the occasion as a true celebration of a life well lived in the service of others. The School will capture the thoughts expressed by alumni and others to create a book of memories for Mike's family and to hold in the School archives. Details will be included in the Order of Service.
